Saudi club Al-Nassr have opened a line of negotiations with Luka Modric. According to press sources, Al-Nassr’s management are close to convincing the player to join the club in the ongoing winter transfers.
And according to the same sources, Al-Nassr’s administration has made an offer of around 40 million euros as annual salary for the player in a contract that spans two and a half years.
The club’s management is trying to convince him in the presence of Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo, with whom he has had a close relationship since they have been together at Real Madrid. And if the Saudi administration of Al Nassr has persuaded Luka Modric, they will pave the way for negotiations with the administration of Real Madrid to buy the remaining 6 months of his contract.
The Al-Alami administration had negotiated with Croatian international last summer, and he had agreed to join the team, but after his contract with Real Madrid expired in the summer of 2023, after Al-Nassr sports director Goran Vucevich convinced him.
According to journalists close to the club, if the deal is not completed during the current winter transfer window, the deal will be postponed until next summer. Al-Nassr’s French coach Rudi Garcia also demanded the need to contract a playmaker during the ongoing winter transfers, to replace Uzbek player Jalaluddin Masharibov.
Al-Midan Al-Riyadh, the sports section of Saudi newspaper Al-Youm, also mentioned, citing private sources, that Luka Modric has already signed for Al-Nassr Club, and the deal will be announced very soon.
